HOW TO UNDERSTAND MORE IN THE CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES
From the information that I got that when we hear and learn something from the lecturer, teacher, or the presenter in the seminar, the information that we got and saved by our memories is only 20% commonly. And finally, when we answer some questions in the quiz or test, we just answer 20% for the correctly sure, the remaining answer is only gambling. But, not all listener only got 20% in learning something, for the one who usually study ofcourse they can learn more than that.
For everybody who study in High School or University maybe this article can be useful for you all, especially for the one who are not ‘brilliant’ enough in the classroom like me.
One of my friend that took the University in Jakarta ever told me this tips. This tips can increase our 20% capability in learning knowledge into 60% or 80%. Let’s check it out!
The frecuency of time in the University is about 100 minutes – 150 minutes for every subject. And in Indonesia every subject divide into some hours of SKS for one subject. For one subject commonly divide into 2-3 SKS, or it can be more than 3 SKS. And for the time of 1 SKS is 50 minutes or 45 minutes. So if we take 3 SKS for one subject we study effectively about 150 minutes in classroom.
If every one subject we only get 20% from the 150minutes of 3 SKS, we just got 30 minutes from the total of the classroom activities.
So if we want to study in the classroom we also need some rest or pause time. Some athlets also definitely need some rest time when they play in the games, we need too in the classroom. What rest or pause here? It means that we can make an interval of time to refresh our mind to make our brain not to tired.
So we can make an interval of time to refresh for 20 minutes study and 5 minutes pause or rest. Simple enough doesn’t it? So you just need to hear your Teacher or Lecturer for 20 minutes and for other 5 minutes you can just do some doodle, think other things, go to the toilet, or do other activities (but don’t disturb the activities in the classroom) continue to 20 minutes study then next 5 minutes to do other things again, do it continously.
But in the 20 minutes of study, you must make sure that you are really hear and learn the explaining of the lecturer without any disturbance, and for the remaining time of 5 minutes you can just do other things.
So, if we count the total of time of 3 SKS that we use to study at least we study totally focus to the lecturer about 115-120 minutes. Of course it can be more than 20% of the time that commonly we got. We can get the 80% of the material that was given.
It is totally different if we push and force our brain to focus for every minutes to the material for that 150 minutes without any pause. As time goes by you can increase the duration of the study time and decrease the pause time.
But, for all who are smart enough who can learn all of the material without any space maybe don’t need this steps.
